Abay Bank and Ethiopian Music Sector Associations Union Sign MOU

Addis Ababa, 12th August 2022 – Abay Bank S.C. and Ethiopian Music Sector Associations Union have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work in partnership in different banking services.

The agreement includes provision of various credit services and products to members of the Ethiopian Music Sector Associations Union.

Markos Demeke, Acting Chief Retail Officer of Abay Bank and Dawit Yifru, President of Ethiopian Music Sector Associations Union have signed the MOU at the Headquarters of the Bank.

Markos Demeke, appreciated the union for taking the initiative to financially benefit the Artistes and working with Abay Bank; the opportunity allows them to maximize saving culture of artists, he said.

Dawit Yifru, on his part said that earlier, despite Ethiopian artists taking precedence in participating in different national issues, they have not benefited financially from their contribution to the country music industry in such a comprehensive manner. He expressed his gratitude to Abay Bank for creating a customized banking service for members of the union.

During the signing ceremony, Artist Mulatu Astatke, Artist Hailemicheal Getenet (Haile Roots), Artist Henok Mehari, Artist Abel Mulugeta, Music Composer Kamuzu Kassa and other high level officials of the union were in attendance.

The Bank has provided similar services to employees of Esdros Construction Trade and Industry S.C, Dashen Brewery S.C, Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation, Wag Development Association, Yardstick International and IF International Fertilizer Development Center are among others.
